Okay.. So here are some complications I tend to have to sort out.
- I have to eat spinach and leafy greens in order to try and keep my Macular Degeneration from advancing .... But my Crohn's really doesn't like spinach or leafy greens.
- I have to have as much calcium as possible because most of my medications can cause bone density loss... I can't actually have milk products with my other meds AND I am not supposed to have much dairy because of the Crohn's and the Arthritis... And calcium supplements don't absorb well enough.
- I am allergic to a lot of medications (which is a problem all on its own)... But the issue I have been dealing with lately is the fact that I have to be on Tylenol with Codeine on a daily basis.... T4s have caffeine in them... Which I am allergic to.
- I have issues with insomnia, bouts of Sleep Apnea, and other sleep deprivation issues, which causes me to be exhausted a lot.... Bring in the allergy to caffeine and there's a whole new battle of trying to stay awake for an entire day.
- The Humira has been awesome for the pain in my spine and hips from the Arthritis... But it makes any pain from hormonal imbalances (specifically endometriosis and similar issues) to get worse. So the medication intending to get me off of Codeine is making the Chronic Pelvic Pain so bad that I still need the Codeine (although I have needed less - which is awesome)
- Here is an obvious one for people with digestive issues. So: let me preface this one by saying that I LOVE FOOD!! I love to eat, I love to cook, I love tasting food. BUT!!!!!!: Humira, Methotrexate, and a couple of other meds severely decrease my appetite. Sometimes eating 1000 calories in a day is difficult. Add the fact that eating hurts - All. The. Time. .... The dilemma? I kind of need to eat... For obvious reasons..
- I have an Epi pen always in my purse. It's for all the allergies to medications and caffeine and chlorine, plus any other allergies I may have that we don't know about yet. .... But I have Tachycardia, so I'm not really supposed to use the Epi pen... So I have it, in case I am physically dying, but there's a possibility of a heart attack if I use it.... So die from anaphylaxis or from heart attack? Wait for the paramedics.
There are way more! I will add to this list of clashing issues when I remember more!
Complicated is my specialty!!!
