Today, on my way to an appointment with a new specialist, I had a great funny moment with a lady who was also getting on the elevator.
We were both having issues getting into the elevator. I was shaky, using my cane, and she had this entire getup - she was using her walker and an oxygen tank, she had a cast on her right foot, and compression socks on her left foot.
Both of us chuckled as we got in.
Then we proceeded to discuss how pretty our life-aiding devices were. She asked me where I got my beautiful cane and where she can get one, then she showed me her "new sexy compression socks" and I commented on the Spring-like bright green cast.
Both her and I were able to laugh about the situation... It kept a smile on my face the rest of the day. To be able to see, relax, and take humor in an obviously difficult situation is pretty amazing, and this poor lady had, quite evidently, had a pretty complicated last while! And she was only maybe in her late fifties.
Sometimes, all we have is humor to get s through the day. Nice to be able to share it with a random stranger in an elevator.
