At my most recent trip to receive emergency treatment, I will never forget the moment RJ finally got to come to see me through those doors past the triage nurse's station.
He came in, dropped my stuff on a chair, (made sure I was ok of course), and then DOUSED himself in hand sanitizer. I mean his arms, his hands, his face, his neck - he basically had a hand sanitizer bath.
Apparently there was a couple in the waiting room who believed they may have contracted the Measles. There was a case recently and people who had gone to a specific place were likely exposed, and this man's wife had been there and was ill and running a fever. He sat directly next to RJ.
So the hand sanitizer bath had to suffice until we got home, when he jumped in the shower and then I had a bath.
It was one of the funniest things I ever saw... and comical only because neither of us have experienced any symptoms... and the woman likely had the flu. I truly hope that her and her husband are healthy and that their scare was short-lived.
Watching RJ come in through the curtain, drop everything, and wash his face and arms in hand sanitizer was quite a sight to see.
