Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn's Disease are often labeled 'bathroom diseases'.
They are.
They're not just bathroom diseases, but they are bathroom diseases.
On my best days I will not go through an entire roll of toilet paper all on my own, but those days are few and fairly far between. Style and comfort of toilet paper is a BIG DEAL when it comes to IBD, and I have to change the roll almost every single day, unless I am having a good day, I am out and about using other people's washrooms, or when using the Kirkland Costco Brand double rolls.
The point is - we go through a ton of it.
Not only that, but chafing is definitely an issue. No one wants to talk about it, but cleaning that area so many times throughout the day can get painful - even with Charmin Ultra Soft tissue, or even Kleenex tissue with lotion (which I have had to resort to a few times), or even sensitive-skin baby wipes. But let's face it, you can't really get away with that last one unless you also have children at home to explain its presence.
So I am trying something new -> a BIDET!!
The goal is to use less toilet paper, reduce chafing, feel cleaner, and if I am having any trouble waking up, that shot of cold cold water should help wake me up!! (Okay, that last one wasn't a goal, but it is now!!!).
So far I am pretty happy with it. =D
