Secretive or Over-Sharing

I feel like there are two types of chronic illness patients at work:

The secretive types who tell nobody at work anything specific about their illnesses (other than potentially the boss)

And

The types that tell their coworkers and their boss everything in fine detail

I also believe that the former can easily become the latter depending on the type of environment they experience at work.
With lack of support, doubt, suspicion, entitlement from others to know intimate medical details, inappropriate questions, complaints, disrespect, and gossip, the secretive can become the over-sharer - to defend their own integrity and work ethic.

So - which kind of patient are you?
Have you ever felt forced to share intimate details of your healthcare journey because someone at work was casting doubt?
If you are the secretive type, how successful have you been at hiding the details you wish to hide?
