Tea and Flowers

For me it is always important to indulge in simple luxuries.

Herbal tea will not improve my pain. It will not stop my intestines from calling for an internal revolution, and it will not reduce the amount of inflammation in my joints, my organs, or my skin.
It is soothing.
It is something that soothes me on a psychological and emotional level.
It encourages me to slow down and take a break. (It also happens to be delicious). Lately I have been so busy and so stressed that I had forgotten what a nice hot cup of tea could do for my well-being.

Flowers are similar. They won't lessen any pain or inflammation, they won't make my physical suffering any better, but they liven up the place. They are a nice pop of colour and a way to celebrate the small beauties we can find every single day. It is another way to lift my mood.

A night of soothing tea, card games, with flowers on the table is the kind of night we all need once in a while. This kind of night is inexpensive and a good way to spend some quality time, especially when there is nothing else to be done about the pain. Add in a good book while lying in bed unable to sleep and you have several great ways to cope with a tough situation.

Simple.
Soothing.
