Advice on Communication

I have been having some difficulty with basic communication while I am being pushed in my wheelchair. 

I am finding that regular and natural conversation is really difficult - the individual pushing me cannot hear me well if at all, I tend to have to yell and twist around to even show that I would like to say something. 

Especially in crowded places, we want to find a solution for not being able to hear one another. 

Anyone have any advice on how to communicate better while being pushed in a wheelchair?
