I would be nothing without my family and friends.
What's the saying: "money, health, and happiness"? "Love, health, and money"?
The truth is, most things are overrated.
I have enough money to live comfortably. This is both a privilege and the determination to live within my means and to work for what I would like to have and accomplish in life. I am, however, nowhere near rich. But it doesn't bother me in the slightest! Would more money make some things EASIER? Of course. But money does not make people happy.
Health is the same way, believe it or not. I am not considered "healthy". My health often affects what I do, how I do things, when I do things, and if I can do anything at all. But guess what? I am still one of the happiest people that I know.
I have been lucky with health in a lot of respects. Take a walk through the Cancer ward at a Children's Hospital. I tell you, it is incredibly inspiring. They still know how to laugh and enjoy the small things; the little moments. Actually, any ward at the Children's Hospital will give a sense of how to cherish every healthy moment.
I absolutely love my life.
I get frustrated, I am in constant pain, on constant narcotics, and, on an average week, I have to go to at least 3 invasive and painful treatments. But I would not trade my life with anyone else's.
I have this incredible family. I have amazing friends that I can count on. Some of these friends have been there with me through everything - since preschool age. Some of them are newer - but I feel so lucky to have any of them in my life, let alone all of them.
I have an incredible furry companion that I look forward to coming home to every day.
I am passionate about every activity I am involved in, I am proud of where I have come from and what accomplishments I have made.
Yes, I am sick. No, I am not rich.
I am genuinely and absolutely happy with my life - despite the daily struggles.
