I am possibly getting some results tomorrow.
Now normally.. For a normal type of situation.. People will hope for everything to be clear; no sign of any bodily distress, no masses, no extra tissue, no misshapen organs or problematic fluid sacks...
But when there is a loooong history of unexplained pain, unexplained vomiting, troubles with everything to do with being female... Sometimes it gets confusing as to what to hope for.
If you hope they find something - that's really scary. It seems foolish. It seems morbid and just plain idiotic.
If you hope they find nothing - it means no conclusive source for the pain. It means another 6-12 months of trying to figure it out. It means feeling crazy.
So.. I guess what I'm saying is... I hope they find something that can be treated or managed. This outcome would validate the pain, give me an answer, and is temporary and not life threatening.
You know the worst part of this whole process? I mean, it is overwhelming, it is stressful, time consuming, frustrating, and a complete emotional roller-coaster. But the worst part, the WORST part of this, is that this happens several times a year.
Several times a year people like me go through countless diagnostic tests trying to figure out the source of a new pain or a new symptom. The stress, the tears, the 'thinking the worst', the trying to stay positive and hoping for the best, the insinuation and the constant battle between trying to figure out if a pain is serious, exaggerated, or simply not even there.
I hope for the least stressful answer: An answer with a viable treatment plan.
On the bright side - at least I will know before Christmas and can have a plan for the New Year!!
