Bad food good food?

It's the second day of the new year and my big appointment today was cupping. Normally I just get her to do my back - focusing around my traps and then down around my hips. Today she also did my IT band and more on the sides of my hips. It was pretty intense but definitely feeling some relief now.

It is absolutely beautiful outside today, so after cupping, I took my lovable dog for a nice long walk. I pushed a little too hard for myself, so I am pretty exhausted, but I couldn't just sit at home and not take advantage of the gorgeous weather!!

I also stopped to get myself some snack foods. It's been over a year since I have bought fancy cheeses, tomatoes, and cracker-type snacks... so I figured that I would indulge today. It's all very 'healthy' by normal standards, although it is said that tomatoes and cheese can increase inflammation. I'm looking forward to preparing a nice snack with my rice crackers, tomatoes, mushrooms, avocado, blackberries and grapes with brie, mozzarella, and Swiss cheeses... I guess we'll just have to see if it makes my joints feel any worse. Small amounts I'm sure won't cause huge problems (at least I hope not).
Sometimes it's important not to deprive yourself of the things in life you really love. Since it's been over a year, I think it's ok ;).

That brings into question the whole idea of bad food vs good food. Now, technically, the above meal is considered very healthy.... but for my body specifically, it might not be. How do we know exactly what each food is doing to our bodies without constantly getting scientific feedback with each bite? There is no real way of knowing what is 'good' or 'bad' for our individual bodies until we get subjective feedback.

So today I am indulging. :)
