My Favorite "Cleanse"

There are all sorts of these programs that are available that "cleanse" the body from toxins and other harmful things that are in the body.


My favorite cleanse is simple enough in theory - but pretty tough to stick to in today's society. I get to do it a lot more during the summer (you'll understand why in a moment), but I always feel SO much better - emotionally and psychologically mostly, sometimes physically. Basically I just end up feeling a lot more relaxed, calm, content, and with more energy.
What is it?


It's a societal/technological/stress cleanse.


One of my absolute favorite things to do is take off to the mountains for a few days and be completely unavailable. Someone always knows where I plan on camping - but the second I get out of town, my phone is off (regardless of whether it is out of reception or not). I specifically take a few days to just spend in the wilderness - me and my puppy. Sometimes other people come along - but I like having a few days to myself too.


This cleanse is a lot harder in the Winter - but I am looking forward to taking a few days off soon. Just shut myself in - keep all technology OFF, keep my phone off, and just basically do a weekend where I speak to no one but myself and my puppy. It's pretty tough to ignore the phone for a while - but I always notice that I feel much better when it's off and I'm headed out of town.


My favorite cleanse - has nothing to do with food! It is removing the psychological and emotional toxins in the body. Frankly, once some stress is lifted in any capacity, it is going to help remove dietary and physical toxins as well. So why not get away for the weekend? The world will continue on without knowing where you are and being able to get a hold of you 100% of the time. Take a break and let me know how it made you feel. :)
