Food Friday Edition: Not Your Boring Oatmeal

Sometimes I will post a recipe for a meal or a snack that I have come to love. 

This one is pretty great. Not only is it healthy, it is low in calories, gluten-free, but tastes amazing. 

Organic rolled oats (abt half a cup dry)
Water
Epicure's Hot Buttered Rum (1 tsp) 
Apple slices

All you need is a tiny bit of the Hot Buttered Rum to give the oats that extra flavor. I also tend to use just a teaspoon of Maple Syrup (because I am addicted to sweets) and sometimes I add almonds or cashews. The recipe above is less than 200 calories and it is actually quite filling. You can also use milk instead of water to make it creamier, but using water is still really tasty. 

This is a nice comfort food for me as it is easy to go down, it's filling, and gives me the energy that I need to go about my day. :)
