New Roommate

Stupid chronic illness... Some people want a new car, a new house, to lose weight, but someone battling chronic illness wants one thing and one thing only - to get better.

But there IS NO getting better. There is no end. It will always be there, and even if some of it goes into remission, there is still never 'winning' the battle. There is only dealing with symptoms. Chronic means forever.

The biggest hope is to get used to what you are dealing with and work around it. Some people say not to let your illness dictate what you can and cannot do. See it more as a compromise. You have a new roommate - this roommate you are now stuck with for the rest of your life and he/she is an absolute, unpredictable, asshole. It won't do you any good to ignore him/her. It will be even worse if you do things that you KNOW pisses him/her off. And getting away from the house won't help - he/she goes with you everywhere you go. Oh and he/she doesn't pay rent either. Real pain in the ass. So - work with your new roommate. Find compromises. Find ways where this roommate doesn't argue or get angry all the time but you still get to be yourself.

I have about 12 different roommates - and they don't always get along. Today, every one of them is pissed off... So am I.
