Nightmares.
They are awful and they have been a huge problem since I first got sick. I don't normally have the 'regular' type of nightmares often - the ones that include fears of spiders or snakes or even the usual ones of falling... And once I went on Prednisone, my nightmares that include people and situations and primarily death, were exacerbated to the point of such horrible night terrors and hallucinations that I eventually did whatever I could to STOP sleeping. They improved dramatically a few years ago, but I still get them once in a while. I remember the first time I dreamt about spiders - I was so excited that it was a 'normal' nightmare that I forgot my fear the instant I woke up....
My nightmare tonight just included spiders... Plus a trip to the emergency room and an allergic reaction to a medication in the emergency room. Pretty rational considering my lifestyle and the fact that I am pretty nervous about this CT scan... Annnnd the spiders likely have something to do with the horror movie marathon the other night.
The most consistent nightmares all seem to have to do with feeling absolutely powerless and being in pain. I used to dream all the time about being stabbed in my stomach, in my back near my hips, once in my leg when I had torn my quad, and then I once dreamt that someone was drilling into the sides of my head (safe to say I woke up to a piercing migraine).
The most difficult of all of this is that my nightmares tend to become hallucinations... And no matter what I have been dreaming about, these are never good.
