I don't usually have to drive in rush hour traffic - I am lucky in that regard. Today, however, I drove in rush hour traffic in the morning, at lunch rush, and after regular work hours.
You wouldn't necessarily think of driving in rush hour traffic as stress-relieving.
Unfortunately, because doctor's appointments are far more stressful than a little traffic, driving tends to be my stress release. Getting in my car, rolling down the window, turning on some music and just sitting in a relaxing seat on the road actually reduces my stress.
Please note that I am also not driving DOWNTOWN Calgary... that would be way more stressful!
I'm just not sure if:
(a) I'm just an expert at relaxing behind the wheel and not getting too bent-out-of-shape towards other drivers and traffic and backups.... or
(b) My appointments are so far beyond the stress of traffic that driving actually seems like a break....
Either way -
Driving was my stress release today.
