Today was a day - as mentioned previously.
So the injection happens to be a specific and complicated one. I get it done at a pharmacy but the pharmacist does need to be properly certified... And the needle is so large that the person doing it cannot actually insert the needle entirely because my arms are too small. The pharmacist who did the injection today (as kind and great as she was) had never done it before. This was her first time.
Ouch.
Then the bloodwork for the lab is so complicated that this was actually a repeat test... They botched the first one. Here's hoping they get this one right... Because 10 vials today made me pretty wobbly... And I would love to actually get the results.
Then I had my ultrasound, which was okay....
Unfortunately it was pretty damn painful. To add to an already difficult day:
My kidneys are normally very slow. So, for pelvic ultrasounds where I need a full bladder, I have always had to finish drinking 64oz (double the regular amount) of water 2 hours before the appointment.
This time, I didn't have double because I have had some weird symptoms (thank gawd).... But my moment of panic is when I was sitting in the waiting room, rocking and trying desperately not to pee my pants, as one of the staff picks up my chart. She grabs it, starts walking towards the waiting room, then turns around to tell the receptionist something - WHEN THEY START CHATTING - about work hours and overtime and who is coming in today.... SERIOUSLY?!? I can't even sit still I am in so much pain and needing to go!
Okay so I finally get taken back and then they had to do a couple of extra, unexpected, scans, which are horribly painful for me.
The good news?
This day is over, I should have a few more answers by next week, I will have a surgical plan, AND maybe even one definitive answer if I am lucky.
No more pelvic ultrasounds. I'd rather have a lower scope than an ultrasound. Seriously.
Looking forward to cuddling with my puppy, having the fireplace on, and enjoying some mindless entertaining television.
