One of my favorite things to do is host a get-together. I love cooking and I love cooking for other people. I just cannot do it very often because of how much work, time, and effort it takes to cook and prepare everything for people to come over.
Last night, with the help of my mom, I was able to host a Pampered Chef party for my friends and myself. Now when you book this kind of a party, they come and cook FOR you. It's nice to have a punch or something prepared, but it can be a very easy thing.... I, however, really wanted to make some extra appetizers and have a few different choices for my guests. I also wanted to try a few new things! So here is what I made:
Mini Nutella Crêpe Bites with Chocolate Drizzle
Red Velvet Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting
Spolumbo Sausage Skewers
Red Wine Sangria
(Limeade, water, Sprite, orange juice, fresh fruit, a bottle of red wine)
Deadly Punch
(Lemonade, water, Sprite, raspberry vodka, fresh orange slices, pineapple slices, raspberries)
Tostito Scoops with Homemade Guacamole and Mango/Pineapple Salsa
(Two avocados, sour cream, lime juice, Epicure's Guacamole Dip Mix... Then mango pieces, pineapple pieces, chopped sweet yellow onion, chopped green onion, chipotle chili flakes, lime juice, golden tomato pieces)
Then the Pampered Chef Lady (Andrea) made a Bread bowl Artichoke Dip
And because I was the hostess, I also got a little dolled up. Can't have people over without looking decent ;).
So this party has put me on my butt today... But it was so nice to have such great friends over, to have a great appetizer made for us, and for me to be able to cook for other people and actually host a 'party' for a change.
Apart from the amazing people I had over, one of the greatest things was that I was still in bed before 10pm! Yes, it absolutely wore me out, but it also was not an overboard night by any means.
Let's hope that I can do this again in a few months :).
