Now, most of those moments offer some comical stories and if my life could be viewed as a sitcom, frankly it would be hilarious. (Think of the scene in Bridesmaids when the girls all got food poisoning).
What this means is that I had to run (literally run) to the washroom... A lot. I had to slam on the brakes and stop the car for a washroom, I have had to race through busy malls pushing people aside, stop in the middle of an athletic event, even find a place on the side of the highway or just use some tree cover. Most of these situations were either funny (after the fact), or just a minor nuisance when it came down to whatever moment had to be missed.
There is one big one that is a regrettable moment for me... And hopefully one day I will be able to rectify it.
During my high school grad, things were not good. I was only about a month out of my second major abdominal surgery, and we all know how stress can affect the gut. Most of the night went off without a hitch, just a few races to the washroom and a general unwell feeling... I don't remember being able to eat that night... But the biggest moment, the one that I regret, is that when it came to the Father-Daughter dance, I had to race to the washroom in the middle of the song.
It is one of my only really regretful moments, even though I had no control over it.
So, hopefully, if I ever have the chance to get married, the Father-Daughter dance at my wedding will be one of THE most important details. It is something I have always looked forward to, and if I end up having to leave during the song, then - because it will be MY wedding - the DJ will have to play it over and over until we can get through the whole damn thing!!!
