Flowers and Polka Dots

Yesterday was actually a pretty perfect day. I was pretty body-tired when I woke up, but I managed to have enough energy to visit the farmer's market. The boyfriend and I strolled around the market, we picked up random things, and then we picked out ingredients to make a new recipe in the evening.
It is so amazing to be able to enjoy just walking around a farmer's market for a while.
The only thing that I noticed that put a bit of a damper on my mood was - polka dots. I looked up at the blue sky, and the sky looked speckled. The dots aren't large - they are more of a nuisance than an actual hindrance - but my visual field is speckled with tiny shadows, now in both eyes. I'd say about 7 or 8 in my left eye and 2 or 3 in the right eye. They are so small that in rooms with bad lighting, I barely notice them at all, but looking at a solidly bright space or wall etc... I really notice them, and my whole world is polka dotted.

In the midst of all of that, we managed to have a pretty perfect day. We cooked a really nice meal and enjoyed the fresh, homegrown food that we purchased, and then today I stopped to get myself some brightly colored flowers when I had to go and pick up more medication from the pharmacy.
Now my place looks a little more like Springtime again, even though there is snow on the ground outside.

It's a good thing that I enjoy being a girly girl. Polka dots and flowers are pretty girly.... And seeing polka dots in the sky may be a little daunting, but it's also kind of beautiful in a girly and morbid way.

Let's just hope the progression starts to slow down again. Speckles I can handle.
