Reminder and Missed Opportunities

I got to go to a concert at the Jack Singer concert hall to go and see Home Free live for date night.
This is, by far, the best concert that I have ever been to. They are the epitome of talent, teamwork, and how it should be! They are very clearly having fun on stage, they are showcasing each individual and his (numerous) talents, they are doing what they love!

Now, I heard a little late about them coming to Calgary. They had very few VIP tickets and I, unfortunately, was not quick enough to get any. The VIP ticket holders got to hang out with the a cappella group, have front row seats, and actually got to get to know the guys a little bit. Plus... A girl going to school for musical theater got a chance to do a little singing on her own.

After I pouted about this missed opportunity for about a minute, thinking how amazing it would have been to be able to sing WITH these guys - even for thirty seconds - I quickly had to give myself a quick reminder:
That - unlike a year ago, even six months ago - tonight I was actually physically ABLE to go and enjoy this concert. I walked, in heels, I sat through a two-hour concert, and then they were signing autographs so we stayed an extra twenty minutes for that.

Yes - I was in major pain. Yes, I was nauseous. Yes, I got sick when I got home and the next two days or so will be spent recuperating.

So - there may have been one opportunity missed based on timing.. But I didn't know if I would ever be physically well enough to even sit and watch a concert for two hours anymore. And not only did I get to enjoy two hours of absolutely PURE talent, I got to enjoy it with someone that I truly care about.
I'm human. I pouted and totally slouched in my chair. But then I remembered that if I felt the way I did last year, that I would have never even gone because I literally would not have been able to sit there.

I am making progress. Slowly. I have found some of my limitations and I have figured out what kinds of activities are worth pushing those limitations.
This concert was the absolute best yet. I cannot WAIT to see them perform live again. AND I got a bag signed by all five members.
What an amazing night! What an amazing date!
