This weekend has been pretty amazing. I was able to have a little vacation and I was able to take in some beautiful sights and truly enjoy myself.
Singing for a 50th anniversary, spending an evening playing cards with fantastic people, being able to two-step a bit, buying Decker a couple of vests as souvenirs (as well as his Hallowe'en costume for this year... Oh man is he ever gonna hate me when I make him wear it :S), enjoying beautiful weather, and being taken on a tour meeting new people and creating new experiences - this has all been SO much fun and SO exciting.
But - the health-nerd in me was MOST excited about this:
A drive-thru pharmacy!!
I mean - how fantastic was that idea??? You can call ahead to have your prescriptions filled, and then you can simply pick it up at the window. Or you can order up a medication refill at the drive thru and pick up your meds without ever having to leave your vehicle!
We are very lucky to even have access to proper medications and treatments, so really, parking and walking into a pharmacy, then waiting 20-60 minutes for prescriptions is REALLY small-potatoes compared to SO many people who do not even have access to meds.
With that said, I still totally love the idea of a drive-thru pharmacy.
"Welcome to _____ Pharmacy, how can I help you?"
"Hello! I would like to order ______, _____, ______, and _____ please. Oh and could I also grab a box of ________ over-the-counter medication?"
"Absolutely - that will be $56.28 at the next window"
Next window:
"Hi there, do you have an account here or an insurance card?"
"Yes, I do. It's under the name _______."
"Wonderful. No charge today ma'am. Please proceed to the next window."
Next window:
"Here you are. Receipt is in the bag. Your next scheduled refill date is listed on your receipt. If you have any questions for the pharmacist, please call or come in."
How perfect for long-term medication use and repeat refills?!?
:)
