It seems that I often have bad luck when it comes to washrooms.
Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I use the washroom much more often than the average person, or maybe I just have plain, simple, old fashioned bad luck!!
Leave it to me to pick the one stall, in a washroom with twenty stalls, that won't flush properly.
Or to get the faulty motion sensor with no manual flusher.
Or the only stall open is the one that does not close or lock properly, or doesn't have enough toilet paper in it.
You can even catch me racing towards the public washrooms in a mall, only to be blocked by the 'cleaning' sign.
Hell I have even had to just GO even when a male custodian has been in there washing the floors.
Not to mention that one gas station I went racing into, asked for the key to the washroom only to find out that it was occupied. My response was to yell at the attendant: "then give me the key for the men's!!". He looked pretty frightened... And then confused when I smiled and politely thanked him when I left.
Then there is the 'hole-in-the-floor' episode out in France...
There was even several weeks on end where my place of employment had no working washrooms - so I literally had to drive five minutes down the road, call to be let into the building, AND be given a washroom key, every single time I had to use the bathroom. Seriously. During an 8 hour work day, that's at LEAST 10 trips to the washroom!
Then there are the washrooms with lighting that is based on movement. After a certain amount of time of inactivity, the lights shut off on their own until the sensors pick up more movement.
Admit it... We have all been there.
Finally in a washroom alone, some peace and quiet, and then the lights go out. My first thought is usually 'oh geez have I seriously been in here THAT long?'
Annnnd then I proceed to frantically wave my arms around trying to be detected so that the lights turn back on.
The lights when out 3 times today.... I felt like a lunatic sitting there flailing my arms in every which direction, every five minutes, so that the lights would come back on.
At least, with modern technology, cell phones now have flashlights and are almost always accompanying people to the facilities.
At least it's all an adventure. :S
