I was especially nervous for my appointment today.
For good reason.
Over the last year I have gone through all of the process and planning stages for surgery. It was all good to move forward and book the surgical date.
At today's appointment my doctor went over all of the specific details of surgery, risks, recovery, pre-op and post-op details, even scarring and incision details. Then she had me sign the consent form to do surgery.
Within the next two minutes she flat out refused to do the surgery.
A year's worth of planning, all the way up to signing the consent form, and surgery is now off the table.
Do they not understand that this is my last option? I have no other avenues to go down to try and feel better. I have no more choices. And this offered a smidgen of hope.... and it was right there.. in my hands... with my signature on it .....
And then taken away.
Just like that.
