Inconsistent Days

Yesterday I woke up feeling like I got hit by a train. My muscles all ached, my throat was tight and sore, I was coughing, sneezing, and headachy, and my nausea was so awful that I could not even fathom speaking without vomiting.
With a little help, the nausea got under control, but the rest stayed with me the rest of the day, and I was awake for barely 5 hours before having to lie down in bed for the night.

Today I woke up with less pain, less nausea, less muscle achiness, less headachy, and overall pretty darn good. I had enough energy to run a bunch of errands today and managed to walk without a walking aid almost the entire day. In fact, today was SO busy that I am a little worse for wear now - with a lovely abdominal swell and screaming joints.

These two days were at such drastic extremes that it can be hard to grasp how this becomes a regular occurrence. No matter how much you THINK you know your diseases and triggers and symptoms, your body goes from one side of the spectrum to the other in record times.
The truth is, I will never be fully in control. I will always be at the mercy of my inconsistent and unpredictable body.
But I am sure glad that I was able to take advantage of the good and high energy day today.
