Recovery Day 11

Today is the 11th day in my recovery from my hysterectomy.
Things are good!

Although I am feeling quite good, I still have to be very careful. Regardless of my pain level, I still cannot lift anything over 10lbs for another 5 weeks, I cannot have a bath, we cannot be intimate, I cannot work out, and I have to be extremely careful if I leave the house, all for another 5 weeks.
I am allowed to drive after day 14, but I am not sure I would feel comfortable doing so. The pain is still high enough that my reflexes might not be as quick or effective, and I will not get behind the wheel until I feel more able.

I managed to walk the stairs in our home yesterday and the day before, along with a quick game of pool, I lie and sleep with a pillow over my abdomen (sometimes Dex likes to jump on us), and bathroom breaks have improved but are still pretty painful. I can sleep on my side relatively comfortably, I can sit and watch flicks in the living room on the couch, and I have been able to do a little cooking.
I have been able to almost eliminate my extra pain medication, and I am on fewer anti-nausea medications than I was taking prior to surgery - which is AMAZING!

Today's goal is to have a nice seated shower, tomorrow I may walk (slowly) on the treadmill for 10 mins, or go out and throw the ball for Decker in the yard. Wednesday is a rest day, especially because Ryan will be out of town in the evening. If I am feeling particularly ambitious, we MAY try and go see a movie at the theater (at a really slow time of day) sometime next week. And THEN I will also book a hair appointment and get a little pampered. :)

The best part of recovery today? I feel well enough to have my celebratory Peter's Drive-In!!!

I always need to remind myself to TAKE IT SLOW.
