Boost - Original Chocolate

I have a very complicated relationship with food.
I would not be considered a picky eater, because there are very few foods that I detest or refuse to eat, but there are many foods that I cannot eat (like black licorice, fennel, coffee beans, or popcorn), foods that I try to stay away from (sesame seeds, brussels sprouts, celery), and foods that I have to eat only small amounts (like nightshades, dairy, or eggs). I LIKE most of those foods, but they either give me hives or throat swelling OR they make me feel awful due to several inflammatory and GI illnesses.

One thing I AM picky about, however, is my meal replacement shakes for when I cannot eat solid food or even the multitude of full-fluid options available.
My Crohn's right now is so pissed off that my usual go-to full-fluids of rice pudding and fresh or frozen yogurt, creamy soups, tea, or hot chocolate are all off the menu. All of that has been affecting me negatively - and pretty severely.

These are the times when Boost is essential. Both to helping me feel full as well as providing some much-needed nutrition and calories. Boost is what I am picky about.
I cannot stand Ensure, I detest Strawberry Boost, and the only Boost I have ever actually enjoyed (especially over long periods of time) is the Original Chocolate.

Unfortunately, I was not very clear about my picky habit until it was too late. My poor fiancé, who was amazing enough to go and buy two more packages so that I would be set for the next 3 days, had no experience looking for this stuff. And unfortunately for me, I did not notice the issue until I had taken a HUGE gulp ...
It was so bad I actually thought I had accidentally grabbed a really old bottle that was expired. Nope. It was the Diabetic edition.
Hey - if I had to drink that kind, I could make do. But today, that taste made me gag and wash my mouth out and STILL stuck.
See, there are several types of these shakes. There are the Boost with "extra calories", the Boost with "extra protein", chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, I think once in a while there is even strawberry-banana... but the only one that I can stomach is the Original Chocolate... which also happens to often be in a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT section from the extra fortified types.
So poor Ryan came home with a kind that I abhor.

I believe he bought two packages - so if any of my friends like the Chocolate Boost - Diabetic and want 11 bottles, come by and pick them up at your leisure. They will go to waste here. Or I will donate them somewhere.

Next time I will be much more clear about what I need... or order from the Click and Collect so he can simply pick it up.
Oops.

So - gonna have some French toast tonight. It has been working well as solid-ish food for the past week or so.
And yes - I would prefer to eat solid food and thoroughly pay for it in pain than drink this stuff.
Lol

Moral - once you find a kind you like, stick with it. And always check the label and the expiry date before taking a massive gulp of any drink.
Blech.
