Time for some lighter posts.
I am celebrating today - for several reasons.
• I am celebrating today because I am 31 years old, and I was truly never sure I would even make it to age 30.
• I am celebrating today because I am lucky enough to have a roof over my head, food in my home, an upcoming marriage, and I am surrounded by people I love - who also love me.
• I am celebrating today because there are many things I still want to do, I still want to change, and I have the freedom to dream and plan and speak those desires.
• I am celebrating today because, even though pain is preventing me from sleeping right now, I know that I can sleep all day tomorrow if my body needs it.
• I am celebrating today because November is Crohn's and Colitis awareness month and I have come SO incredibly far despite being diagnosed with severe IBD over 17 years ago.
• I am celebrating today because I can foresee a future - and even with serious health complications, that future is looking pretty damn amazing.
• I am celebrating today because I am here. I am conscious. I am me.
And no matter how angry I get, no matter how frustrated or devastated I get or how much I struggle, somehow I still go to bed every night feeling happy. And grateful. And I still wake up every morning looking forward to something - however small (even on my worst days).
