Today is a treatment day, which usually consists of an early 7am injection, an hour or two of downtime while my body adjusts, followed by another 6-8 hours of straight sleep. This medication causes extreme exhaustion with every injection and is known to keep the patient in bed for the remainder of the day.
With that said, I have some extremely important phone calls to make, and I am having a very difficult time trying to get a hold of the person I need to speak with. It is a fairly urgent matter and boils down to miscommunication, but needs to be resolved ASAP.
So I am fighting that necessary sleep to space out the phone calls. I am reading and browsing social media and doing everything I can to stay awake so that I can deal with the issue.
My stomach is burning and my eyelids are drooping and I have read the same paragraph 3 or 4 times already... but I must... stay... awake!!
If I do not get a hold of the individual, I may try to book an appointment. (I don't even know if that is really even possible... but I'll try). Then, after the next phone call, their office will be closed for lunch for over an hour. During that hour is when I will allow myself to have a nap... although I am so stressed out that I may have a hard time relaxing enough to sleep anyways.
Then I have a list of 5 or 6 more phone calls to make to other people.
A busy day for a day in bed after treatment. Geez.
