So, tonight I took my first Cosentyx injection. I did not experience any immediate throat swelling or anaphylaxis, which means this first injection was successful.
There are a ton of risks. It could make my Crohn's a lot worse, it could make my psoriasis worse, it could activate Shingles since I had it a few years ago, it could create a liver problem, and I could still wind up allergic to it...
But it could help the Ankylosing Spondylitis, and it may not do any of the above awful things.
It will be very touch and go for a while, but tonight was successful.
It is a lot of medication... so it feels like adrenaline going through my system, with body exhaustion, a flushed face, and some shakiness, maybe a little skin discoloration, but nothing alarming.
I will hopefully sleep really well tonight, then tomorrow is a Berinert treatment day which will have me sleeping all day, but it will be interesting to see how I will feel the remainder of the week.
