Medical ID Bands or Underwear?

I am in need of some new underwear.
I am also in need of some new medical id bands.

It's not really a big deal. I could just wear two medic-alerts at all times, but I broke one, misplaced another, and will be getting married soon and changing my name. I also like to have options. I know I know, it's totally vain to want to have pretty medical id bracelets that match different outfits and jewelry, but if ya have to wear them, why not get pretty ones?

I am also running low on underwear. Unfortunate recurrence of certain symptoms of Crohn's Disease and Chronic Pouchitis mean that I go through underwear more quickly than normal.
There is a certain type of underwear that is the most comfortable - luckily they go on sale quite often. But this month I could only afford one or the other.

So, for safety's sake, I went with new medical ID bands. I can do laundry and hold out for another month for sure with my undergarment inventory.
However, leaving the house without a medical id band is just plain stupid for someone with my health issues.
Those ID bands could very seriously save my life. It lets others know not to administer medications or treatments or even injections without first consulting my chart. My ID bands tend to say things like "Complex History", "See Chart", "Allergies", "HAE". Some will even have my health care number on them for quick and easy access should the situation arise.
I hope that I never really require them, but I get stressed and nervous if I leave the house accidentally forgetting a medical id band.
Recently I actually drew something similar to the medic-alert symbol on my wrist because I forgot one of my bracelets.
Just driving around the corner makes me nervous if I don't have one on. If I were to get into an accident, have an acute swelling attack, have a fainting spell, or worse, administering a medication that I am allergic to or should never take could be fatal.

So, medical id bands are the priority.
It is also something I recommend for most people with chronic illness - especially those with dangerous allergies or intolerances.
