There's really no explanation needed...
Just a random
Oh hell I think I'm gonna puke right now
Then a race to the washroom.
Fun facts
• Did you know that you can crack ribs just from coughing or vomiting violently?
• Did you know that you can pull the muscles in between your ribs just from vomiting (called the intercostal muscles)?
I tend to vomit violently.
I have cracked my ribs, pulled those muscles, burst blood vessels, and badly damaged my esophagus - all of these, various times.
Tonight I pulled muscles near my sternum. (I have sprained my sternum before and that was brutal... this isn't that bad, but it's in the same area and it's still damn painful). I am speculating obviously, but I have pulled a lot of muscles through sports - confirmed by health professionals when required - and it feels the same.
You know what the worst part is about middle-of-the-night vomiting?
1. I am not sure what it is from.
2. After vomiting, I don't feel any better. I am still hanging out on the bathroom floor fully expecting to vomit again...
Isn't that the worst? You know you have to puke; your body is shaky, you start to feel clammy, you get all flushed and your mouth starts salivating like crazy, you get this look on your face like you have zero control over it - where your mouth hangs open a little and your eyes are uncharacteristically droopy, then you start to feel the cramping and that gaseous bubble fest at the back of your throat... then all of a sudden your stomach seems to expel in a great heave that leaves you feeling MORE shaky and totally exhausted.
And then, once you finish, you don't feel any better.
Might be in for a rough night.
Especially when the first session damaged something near my sternum.
Hmmmm what's the bright side? What is the lighter side of this particular experience?
Well... I guess I am grateful that the toilet is clean.
I have blankets available to lie on the floor.
We have an ensuite in our master bedroom.
Annnnnd it was potentially caused by excitement from having my first alteration fitting earlier in my bridal gown... that's definitely not a bad reason to wind up like this. Excitement results in consequences... so I guess I'll take the puke fest.
Happy sleeping!
I am hoping to pass out relatively soon and sleep through the worst of the nausea.
