Next week, after my Bachelorette weekend, I am going to be testing out a wheelchair for a few days.
Although I will only be using it on a part-time basis, don't be surprised if you see me in it a lot next week. I am going to be thoroughly testing one out.
Being very new to this idea, I know of a few things I need to test out, but if you have any other ideas, I would love to know!
• Weight to carry with and without the wheels
• Ease of use alone and with someone
• How difficult it is to remove the wheels or leg rests
• Maneuvering around a building, outside, through doorways, and with my purse.
• Grocery shopping
• Going to an appointment
• Taking my dog for a walk
• Comfort
• Manual adjustments - back, legs, arms, etc...
• Height (fitting underneath a table?)
• Ease to foot propel
• Ease to wheel myself with my arms - if it will affect my shoulder blade pain
• Ability to adjust my seating position
• Adequate padding
Please let me know if there are other things I should be testing out while I have a demo chair!
