Most of you already know that I haven't really been able to enjoy a real shower in a couple of years. The movement and (mostly) the standing end up making me feel so much worse that I find it much easier to simply have a bath every few days instead. It all started several years ago when I was on Prochlorazine and vomited with every little bit of movement, followed by a change in my thyroid levels that also had me vomiting every day.
Showering was simply out of the question.
We even tried buying a shower bench for me, and that worked the odd time when I absolutely needed to shower, but it wasn't the same.
Now I have this nice routine of watching a tv show or a movie while in the bathtub - enjoying bath bombs, bath salts, and all sorts of nice-smelling products to use in the tub.
But really, nothing beats a nice, long, relaxing shower.
Tonight I needed to have a bath... but I really didn't want to have one. The thought of just lying down in that tub was just unappealing to me tonight - there is no other way to truly explain it.
So I decided to try having a shower. A nice, long, relaxing shower with my raindrop shower head in the guest bathroom. As luxurious as I could make it. I even locked the door to avoid being disturbed.
It was worth every second.
Good news: I haven't puked yet!
Bad news: it definitely increased my nausea, pain, and general malaise.
Still amazing.
Sometimes you just need to do something, even though you know you may be worse off because of it later on.
That sweet sweet shower was such a novelty to me today. I loved it.
